Warm Up Your Transmission, Not Just Your Engine

Most drivers know to let their engine warm up on cold mornings, but many overlook their #

auto #transmission. Your transmission fluid thickens in cold weather, making it harder for gears to shift smoothly right away. While you don’t need to idle for long, giving your vehicle a minute or two before driving off—especially in freezing temperatures—can help prolong the life of your transmission.
Bonus Tip: Always shift into drive or reverse only after the engine has settled into a smooth idle. Shifting too early can cause unnecessary stress on the transmission components.
